Do you provide the props, backdrops, or cakes for the Sitter/Smash sessions?
To keep the focus on your little one's authentic personality and natural connections, I use a minimalist approach to props. I provide simple backdrops and beautiful natural light. For the cake smash, I ask that the client provide the cake and outfit to ensure it is exactly to your taste and meets all allergy requirements.
My baby is very shy/cranky/teething right now. What happens if they won’t cooperate?
Don't stress! The beauty of "lifestyle" photography and my experience working with infants means we prioritize their comfort first. We follow the baby’s lead; if they need a break for a feed, a nap, or a snuggle with mom and dad, we take one. The session time is flexible to ensure we capture beautiful, natural moments, not forced smiles.
When should I book these sessions, especially the Newborn session?
For the Newborn Session, it is crucial to book while you are still pregnant (around your 20-week mark) to guarantee a spot in my calendar as I only take a limited number of clients per month. Milestone/Sitter sessions are best booked about 4-6 weeks in advance. The First Birthday session can be booked 2-3 months in advance to allow time for planning.
Can we include parents and siblings in these photos?
Yes, absolutely! My approach focuses on the authentic connection of your whole family. Parents and siblings are always welcome to jump into a few shots at the beginning or end of any session, especially for the Newborn and First Birthday sessions. These aren't just photos of your baby; they are a documentation of your growing family's story.
